Savannah Disputation review
“Bill Phillips seems born to his role… playing Father Murphy, he creates a complex man - emphasis on man - of the cloth. Murphy is thoughtful and erudite, but he’s also tolerant, and Mr. Phillips makes it clear that he doesn’t really relish the debate with Melissa. But when she points out that a celibate priesthood isn’t a biblical injunction, and says contemptuously, “You gave up sex for nothing!” Mr. Phillips recoils in a way that makes palpable the cost of Father Murphy’s sacrifice.”
